Kate O'Donovan departs Cork City FC

Cork City FC wish to confirm that Kate O’Donovan has left the club by mutual consent.

The midfielder was the first player to come through the club’s academy and play first team football. She made over 100 senior appearances for the club, and was a part of the FAI Cup winning side in 2017.

Speaking to CorkCityFC.ie, Kate said: Thanks to all my managers, coaches and of course teammates for making these last 8 years so special and memorable. I’ve been so lucky to play for the club I’ve grown up supporting for such a long time. Now it’s time for a new and exciting chapter. All the best, Kate ❤️”

City boss Danny Murphy commented: “Kate has been a fantastic servant to this club for several years. I know it was a tough decision for her to leave, but she wants to play more regularly and it was the right decision for her from that point of view. She has been a really good person around the club, around the dressing room and the training ground, and we wish her every success for the future.”
