Cork City are delighted to announce that captain Cillian Lordan has signed a new contract with the club.
Speaking to CorkCityFC.ie, City boss Tommy Dunne said: “I am very pleased that Cillian has signed a new contract. He is an experienced player, and that has been important to us this season. Cillian is committed to the club, which is underlined by the fact that he has been playing with an injury for the last three months and has never complained. I know that the club means a lot to him, and he is determined to play his part in getting Cork City back into the Premier Division.”
Lordan, who has made 30 league appearances for the club this season, said: “I am happy to sign again. It was a difficult season in many respects, but we have learned a lot and will be better prepared for next season. With a couple of additions to the squad over the close-season, I am hopeful that we can build challenge for promotion next season. That has to be our aim and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”
