Graham McCarthy Signs for City
Cork City are pleased to announce the signing of Graham McCarthy from Avondale.
The central midfielder, who was previously with Douglas Hall, was a member of Avondale’s FAI Intermediate Cup winning side.
The 24 year old told CorkCityFC.ie: “I have been out training with the squad over the last couple of weeks. It has been a step up, but I have really enjoyed it. I am delighted to have signed for Cork City and I am looking forward to trying to work my way into the team.”
Commenting on the signing, City manager Tommy Dunne said: “Graham had a great season with Avondale and was recommended to me as one of the best players in the Munster Senior League. He came in and trained with us; he enjoyed it and he did well. We are pleased to have signed him and hope that he can progress over the coming months.”
“We are looking at a number of players who we feel can improve the squad, and we are likely to add another one or two players when the transfer window opens.”
