Brian Lenihan Signs

Cork City are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Brian Lenihan from College Corinthians.

The central midfielder, who turned 18 in June, has been capped at schoolboy level by the Republic of Ireland and can also play in central defence or at full back. Lenihan, who has been playing at Munster Senior League level for College Corinthians in recent seasons, and he told CorkCityFC.ie he was happy to have signed: “I trained with the squad a number of times and I enjoyed the training, so I am delighted to have signed. I am looking forward to making the most of this opportunity and will be working hard to try and get into the team.”

Commenting on the signing, Cork City manager Tommy Dunne said: “Brian is a talented, young Cork player who we had heard good reports about. We watched him a number of times and brought him in to train with us. He is a big, strong lad and he is versatile too. He has done well in training, and I am pleased to have added him to the squad.”

“We are currently speaking to a number of players with a view to strengthening the squad during the transfer window, and I would hope to have news on this over the coming days.”
