Team News for Dundalk Game

Website Story Crest BG

Following three consecutive draws in league action, Cork City will be hoping to get back to winning ways tomorrow as they face Dundalk at Oriel Park.

Cork City manager Tommy Dunne told CorkCityFC.ie that it will be a tough game: “Week-in, week-out, we are facing difficult games and this will be no different. Dundalk are a team well capable of causing problems for anyone in this league as they have shown, and they are on a decent run at the moment. We need to be clued in and vigilant if we are to get a result.”

“Against Shelbourne I thought we performed quite well, but did not take the chances we created. Over the last couple of games we have not had the cutting edge either defensively or up front to claim the three points. Our general play has been quite good, but being more clinical is the difference between drawing games and winning games.”

“I was pleased that we kept a clean sheet against Shelbourne, as that is something we have not done often enough this season. I think it is possibly the most solid we have looked throughout the season. Individuals have done well over the course of the season, but last week I think we looked more solid collectively. Dundalk will be a different type of threat to Shelbourne and I have no doubt it will be a tough game.”

On the injury front, Colin Healy is rated as very doubtful with a thigh strain and will be assessed at training tonight. Dunne also has doubts over the availability of Graham McCarthy (ankle) and Cathal Lordan (knee). Striker Keigan Parker will miss the next two games through suspension following his sending off against Shelbourne. Midfielder Gearóid Morrissey also returns to the squad after missing the Shelbourne game.
