Cork City Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Daryl Kavanagh.
The striker spent the 2012 season at Shamrock Rovers, after a successful season with St. Patrick’s Athletic in 2011.
Commenting on the signing, Cork City manager Tommy Dunne said: “I am familiar with Daryl, as he has played against us a number of times over the past couple of years with Waterford, St. Pat’s and Shamrock Rovers. He is a very good player and caused us many problems when playing against us.”
“He is coming to Cork City at a very good age. He is a very creative striker, with a good work rate. I am hoping that he will settle in Cork and become a fixture in our team over next number of years.”
Speaking to CorkCityFC.ie shortly after signing a two year deal with the club this evening, the 26 year old said: “I am delighted to have signed for the club. Cork City has always been a massive club and I think the club is getting back to where it used to be. Having spoken to Tommy, I know that his aim is to get the club back to the top and that is my aim too.”
