Club statement

Cork City FC wish to thank all of those who assisted with ensuring that tonight’s game against Derry City FC has gone ahead, and all who offered their assistance.

The club would like to thank the Munster Football Association, in particular Ger Delaney, Niall Fitzgerald of Horgan Lynch Engineers, Martin O’Callaghan Ltd and Sergeant Alan Cronin of An Garda Siochána, for their work yesterday to ensure plans were put in place in time to allow the decision to be made. We would also like to thank John Delaney, Fran Gavin and Walter Holleran of the FAI, for the time and support they gave to the club in assisting with the process. Our thanks also to Stephen’s Display Solutions for their assistance with stadium signage issues today.

We wish to thank Munster Rugby and University College Cork, both of whom contacted the club to offer their assistance and their facilities as alternative venues for the fixture if required.

Lastly, we would also like to express our thanks to the many supporters, sponsors, volunteers and others who have contacted us offering their assistance and support.
