4. Kevin Murray (c)
Position: Defender
Date of birth: 16/11/1983
Height: 191 cm
Weight: 90 kg
Place of birth: Cork
Nationality: Irish
Previous clubs: Cobh Ramblers, Waterford United
Kevin re-joined Cork City in November 2011, after already enjoying spending four years with his hometown club between 2002 and 2005.
A versatile defender who can operate anywhere across the back four but has been more frequented in the centre-half position since returning to Leeside, Murray’s fine string of performances in the second half of last season (he was out injured for the entire first) has earned him the captain’s armband for 2013.
The 29 year-old began his career at Turner’s Cross, before leaving for East Cork side Cobh Ramblers and eventually enduring a spell away from his home county with Waterford United, where consistent performances made him one of the most respected names in the First Division.
