Cork City are pleased to announce that Greg O’Halloran has signed a new contract with the club.
The versatile defender has made 27 league appearances for the club this season, and he told CorkCityFC.ie that he was pleased to have signed a new deal: “I really enjoyed this season and I am delighted to be staying at the club. Our aim next season will be promotion, and I hope to play my part in that. The club is being well run and I can see no reason why I would have wanted to leave.”
Cork City manager Tommy Dunne said: “Greg is an experienced player, and has been one of our better players this season. I am glad that he has committed to the club.”
Dunne also confirmed that O’Halloran will not be continuing in his role of assistant manager for 2011, saying: “Greg has made a significant contribution this season, on and off the pitch, but my preference is for him to focus on playing next season. We will be announcing a new assistant manager over the close-season.”
