2014 is set to be a very proud year for Cork City Football Club. Already the longest surviving League of Ireland club from Cork, a working group of supporters and volunteers has been hard at work for several months and is piecing together the 30-year history of Cork City FC to date.
An oral history of CCFC will be recorded over the coming weeks and months – talking to many of the names synonymous with the club – before the content is edited and published next year as Cork City FC celebrates its 30th year in Irish football.
The book will cover all the main events from the club’s founding in 1984 right up to and beyond how the people of Cork, through supporters’ trust FORAS, took the club’s reins into their own hands in 2010.
The working group are also building a comprehensive record of club stats and photographs as part of the project, and anyone that might be able to contribute their own unique story or photograph of Cork City FC are asked to get in touch by dropping an email to [email protected]
