Cork City FC wish to confirm that Connor Ellis has signed for Limerick FC.
The forward joined the club’s Under 19 side during the 2013-14 season, and he made his first team debut for City in July of 2015. He then had a loan spell with Cobh Ramblers, before re-joining City’s first team squad ahead of the 2017 season. He made 20 league appearances last season as City went on to win the double.
Commenting on Ellis’ departure, City boss John Caulfield said: “Connor told me that he wants to go and get regular game time. The challenge for him is to get to the next level and try and score goals regularly in the Premier Division. Of course, we would have preferred if Connor had stayed here, but we do accept that his wish was to move on and play regularly. On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank him for his contribution to the club and wish him the best of luck for the future.”
