Friendly games confirmed as pre-season steps up a gear

With the 2019 Premier Division season kicking off in less than six weeks, four pre-season games have been confirmed for Cork City FC. These sit along the club’s Munster Senior Cup quarter-final fixture against Fermoy FC which had already been recently announced.

John Caulfield’s side will take on Munster rivals Limerick this coming Saturday (Jan 12th) at The Farm (UCC) at 2pm. The squad will then face St. Mary’s at Kilcully Park next Wednesday evening (Jan 16th) at 7.30pm.

Back-to-back fixtures in Kerry are lined up for January 24th and 25th. First, City will play Killarney Celtic at Celtic Park at 7pm followed by a game against a Kerry District League side at Mounthawk Park at the same time the next day.

Speaking earlier this week, manager John Caulfield spoke to the club’s Soundcloud channel about how pre-season has gone so far. “It’s been exciting. It’s great to be back. We’ve brought in a lot of new players this year, so the main thing is blending them in, and the spirit in the early days has been excellent.”
