WNL: Cork City kick off new term away to Peamount United

The new Women’s National League season will kick off on Saturday, March 9th – with Cork City starting their new campaign away to Peamount United. Kick off at PRL Park is scheduled for 6.30pm.

Ronán Collins’ squad will then host defending champions Wexford FC in Bishopstown on St. Patrick’s day (2pm), before travelling to face Kilkenny United and then bringing Shelbourne FC to Cork to complete a testing first four fixtures.

Speaking to the club’s SoundCloud channel, manager Ronán Collins is looking forward to the campaign ahead as well as a number of friendly games arranged for the coming weeks.

“The fixtures have drawn up some really good games, and there’ll be extra focus in training,” he said. “People know exactly who’ll they be played and competition for places will start to hot up. The first few games are quite interesting. Of last year’s top three, three of our first four games is against them.”
