Cork City’s stretch without a league win has continued after a disappointing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Derry City at the Brandywell tonight.
With four games remaining City remain seven points clear of the relegation play-off spot.
The home side took the lead in the 41st minute through Eoin Toal after he combined with All Gilchrist to put Derry 1-0 up.
Junior doubled Derry’s lead before the break after a neat one-two with Ciaran Harkin.
On the hour mark, Garry Buckley came close to pulling one back for the Leesiders but his short went narrowly wide of the post.
The home side sealed the victory shortly after, Junior header forcing a save from Tadhg Ryan but the ball ricocheted off Colm Horgan and ended up in the back of the net.
Deep into injury time, the home side added a fourth, with Junior again on the scoresheet.
