Mark McNulty re-signs for 2020!

Cork City FC are delighted to announce that Mark McNulty has signed back for the club, in a player-coach role.

Speaking to, McNulty said he was looking forward to the challenge, saying: “I am really looking forward to it. I’m doing my coaching badges at the moment and I have spoken to Neale a lot, so it is something I am very interested in. I still feel I have a lot to offer as a player as well, but I am really looking forward to working alongside Neale, Joe Gamble and Alan Bennett on the coaching staff too.”

“The number of players coming into the first team just shows how good the 19s and the 17s have been over the last few years. Neale gave a lot of those lads a chance last year and they did well, so if myself and Benno can play a part in helping them through, then that will be brilliant for us.”

“I’ve worked with David Harrington quite a bit and he has all the attributes to be a top goalkeeper, so I hope to help him like his father helped me throughout my career. Liam is someone I am really looking forward to working with; he’s been at some top clubs, so I have no doubt he will bring a lot.”

City boss Neale Fenn gave his thoughts on the news, commenting: “Mark has been a stalwart of the club for many years now and, with the experience he has, he has a huge amount to offer the squad. Having him signed as a player also gives us real strength in depth in that department, while I have no doubt that he will have plenty to pass on to Liam Bossin and David Harrington as well.”

“We have an awful lot of young, talented players with real hunger to succeed, but you need experience as well, so to have Mark and Alan Bennett both signed up in the last few days is a real boost from that point of view. Both of the lads are steeped in Cork City and understand what it is to play for the club, so they will have a big role to play in bringing the young players through.”
