Cork City FC are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Cory Galvin.
The 23-year-old joins the club after spending the last season and a half at Munster rivals Waterford, where he notched three goals in the 2019 season.
Speaking to CCFC.ie after signing, Galvin said he was looking forward to getting stuck in at his new club: “Obviously, I’m delighted to be here. Being a Corkman, naturally I’m a Cork City supporter so I’m proud to have signed for the club.”
“I know a few of the lads, so I’m looking forward to the start of pre-season, getting a feel for the squad and how Neale wants us to play and getting ready for the 2020 season.”
City boss Neale Fenn said that Galvin is the type of player that suits his vision for the club: “Cory is a very good midfield player. He’s young, eager to impress, and he’s local, which is exactly the type of player we want here. I’ve watched him many times over the last few years, for Waterford, Bray & Cabinteely, and he was a player that caught my eye, so we’re delighted to have him tied down for the 2020 season.
Cory will join up with the squad later this week, as they begin their pre-season preparations in Bishopstown.
