Gearoid Morrissey

Gearóid is yet another of City’s home grown contingent, and is certainly one of the most exciting talents at the club.

Having begun his career with local side Ringmahon Rangers, Morrissey then went on to join Blackburn Rovers’ youth setup, but returned back home in 2010 to sign for his hometown club.

Gearóid is blessed with pace, quick feet, and an eye for a pass. He has also represented the Republic of Ireland at U17 and U19 levels. He played an integral role in the club’s revival, and shone with some stunning performances in the City midfield in 2014 before signing for Cambridge United in January 2015. He returned to Leeside ahead of the 2016 season, signing a two-year contract with the club.
