Cork City FC are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with SportPesa.
The new partnership will see SportPesa support the club via branding in the match programme, pitch-side signage and via the club’s social media channels.
Commenting on the partnership, Cork City General Manager Paul Wycherley said: “We are pleased to welcome SportPesa on board with the club. Last year was a very successful year for the club, on and off the pitch, but we are now focussed on the 2018 season and on the challenges that lie ahead.”
“Having strong and supportive sponsors and partners on board with us is of key importance as we look to build for the future, and we are very pleased to be working with SportPesa. Following our opening league victory last week against St. Patrick’s Athletic, we kick-off our home league campaign this evening against Waterford. It is an exciting time for all associated with Cork City FC, and I know that our partners are as excited about the season ahead as we are.”
SportPesa has a goal of bringing people together. A global gaming brand with a proud and growing reputation for innovation and community involvement across all of their active markets, they aim to harness the power of sport to unify people everywhere – connecting customers with excitement, sports clubs with funding and society with opportunities.
Under the banner of corporate social responsibility, they focus their efforts at a local level. SportPesa give their local teams the freedom to identify issues and support initiatives that can make a real difference at grassroots level, evident through many of the initiatives that have already been delivered in Africa. SportPesa prides itself on providing opportunities for deprived communities through sport and remains committed to grassroots sport and responsible gaming in each of the markets it operates in.
Speaking on behalf of SportPesa Shaun Simmonds, Head of Marketing, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Cork City FC to coincide with SportPesa’s launch in Ireland. The club’s recent double-winning success speaks for itself, and we feel we have similar attributes to make this a very strong partnership, which will benefit both sides.”
“With the defence of the league title beginning at home this evening, an exciting 2018 season is upon us and we are looking forward to supporting Cork City FC all the way. We wish everyone at the club the very best of luck for 2018 and we look forward to working with them and the club’s loyal fanbase over the course of the season.”
