Academy Management Teams Confirmed for 2024!

Cork City FC is delighted to confirm management teams for our Men’s Academy sides for the 2024 season.

Former player Liam Kearney will once again continue in his role as Head of Academy and is pleased with the management structure that has been put in place for the year ahead.

“I am delighted to continue in my role as Head of Academy. It is a huge honour and privilege for me to be in the role and it is something I don’t take lightly. We have seen huge success over the last number of seasons with numerous players securing moves to UK and European clubs, as well as several of our players getting International recognition. But above all, it is very clear that a pathway exists to our 1st team and that is there for everyone to see this season."

"I am very happy with the management teams that we have assembled for the year ahead. I would like to welcome all our new staff members to the club and hope they enjoy their first year working with our fantastic young players."

"I am also particularly happy to see us continue to make strides in the areas of Strength & Conditioning and Video Analysis, which we feel are two very important areas in the development of our young players. It is great to have Damien Coleman and Paul O’Donovan overseeing these areas."

"This year, I have also targeted three key areas in the Academy where I think additional focus will help our players. Paul Kiernan will head up Academy goalkeeping, Daniel Coakley will oversee Health and Nutrition, while Alex O’ Brien takes over as Head of Social Media."

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our management teams the very best of luck for the season ahead and I very much look forward to working with all of them closely.”

Greg Yelverton takes charge of our Mens U20 side for 2024, after most recently coaching the clubs U14 side. Greg, a UEFA Pro Licence holder, will be assisted by City legend Dan Murray, coach Jay Kelly and Strength and Conditioning coach, Damien Coleman. Eoghan Daly joins as Goalkeeping coach, with Pelipe Ruiz will oversee the team’s Video Analysis.

After coaching at MU19 and MU15 level over recent years, Colm Bermingham will manage our Under 17 squad for 2024. Assisting Colm will be former City player Shane O’ Connor and Terry McCarthy. Evan Robinson joins as S&C coach, with Paul Kiernan as GK coach. Barry O’Callaghan returns to the club in the position of video analyst, with John Walsh also joining the management team.

Stephen O’Mahony will continue in his role as U15 Manager for the year ahead and will again be assisted by Paul O’Brien and Tiwani Akinlabi. S&C coach, Eoin Clifford and Video Analyst Anthony Griffin are new faces to the management team

Finally, Liam Kearney will oversee our Mens U14 side along with Lee Moore as Head Coach. Lee will be assisted by Elton Pierce and Eoin Doyle. Amanda Daly continues in her role as S&C coach while Richie O”Brien joins as Video Analyst. Paul Kiernan will look after all goalkeeping departments from MU14 to MU17 level.
