Cork City FC Welcomes LOI Academy Funding
Cork City FC welcomes the news of the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport’s €3 million funding allocation towards the development of League of Ireland football academies across the country.

We would like to thank Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Patrick O’Donovan, Minister of State Charlie McConalogue, Minister for Public Expenditure Jack Chambers, Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tánaiste Simon Harris for their continued support and belief in Irish football as well as the FAI’s David Courell, Mark Scanlon and Will Clarke for their fantastic work.

City’s Head of Academy, Liam Kearney, said: “It is a really positive and significant day for Irish football. This funding will certainly help the future development of our young players. Huge credit is due to Will Clarke, Mark Scanlon and everyone else involved for their commitment to this crucial matter and for getting this over the line. We are very appreciative as well of the support of Sport Ireland and the Department of Culture, Communications & Sport and all in Government for their support. Onwards and upwards!”
