Donal O'Connor signs New Contract

Cork City FC are delighted to confirm that Donal O’Connor has signed a contract extension with the club, to the end of the 2029 season.

The central defender made his first team debut against Treaty United at the end of May, and has started the last two league games for Barry Robson’s side.

Speaking after putting pen to paper on his new deal, O'Connor said: "I’m absolutely buzzing and proud to have signed this new contract. I’m looking forward to continuing to work hard, train hard every day and keep improving."

Commenting on the news, Cork City manager Barry Robson said: “We are really pleased that Donal has signed a new contract. He has been in and around the first team picture for the last few months and, as everyone knows, he has come into the side over the last few weeks and done very well. Now that he has finished school, this is an opportunity for him to come in with us on a full-time basis and we are really looking forward to seeing more of him. He still has a lot to learn, but he is a player with a lot of potential and we are really pleased that he has committed to the club.”
