Heaven & Coates depart

Cork City FC can confirm that George Heaven has left the club, following the expiry of his contract.

Heaven, who joined the club ahead of the 2021 season, made 8 league appearances last year before suffering an injury in the FAI Cup. He made his return from that injury in the Munster Senior Cup in May against Treaty United.

City boss Colin Healy commented: “I would like to thank George for his contribution to the club since he came in at the start of last season. He has had a tough time of it with injury, but has worked very hard on his rehab. We would all like to wish him the very best of luck for the future.”

It was also confirmed that Kieran Coates has departed the club, following the conclusion of his loan spell from Stoke City, and Healy also offered his thoughts on the full-back’s departure: “Kieran has been a fantastic pro during his time here. He is a good player and has a great attitude. I know he really enjoyed his time here and we really enjoyed having him here also. We wish him the very best of luck in the next step in his career.”
