The Harris Family and Cork City FC are delighted to announce details of a testimonial match in memory of the late, great Jerry Harris.
A team of Cork City Legends will take on the Cork City Internationals at Turner’s Cross on Sunday, 19th of June at 2 pm, with a donation from the proceeds of the game to be made to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
The match is kindly sponsored by Jackie Lennox Chip Shop, and tickets will be priced at €10 for adults and €5 for concessions. For those who would like to support the event but cannot make it on the day, there will also be the option to purchase a virtual ticket for €5.
The teams will be managed by Dave Barry and Greg O’Halloran, and will feature a host of City legends including: Alan Bennett, David Meyler, Liam Kearney, Damien Delaney, Gearóid Morrissey and Denis Behan.
The Harris family provided the following comment ahead of the announcement of the game: “We were blown away by the number of messages we received in the aftermath of Jerry’s passing, and we wanted an opportunity to celebrate his extraordinary contribution to Cork City FC and Irish football, so we are delighted to be able to announce details of this game. It is also very important to us that there is a charitable element to the game, with a donation to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, a cause that is very close to our hearts. We are very much looking forward to the game and to celebrating Jerry, and would love as many people as possible to come and join us there.”
More players will be announced in the coming days, and we would ask all City fans and League of Ireland fans to support this very worthy event.
Tickets for the game are now on sale via Ticket Co and will also be available from the club shop in Douglas Village Shopping Centre. To purchase online, see here: https://corkcityfc.ticketco.events/ie/ie/e/jerry_harris_tribute_match
