Cork City return to home league action this weekend, taking on league leaders Shamrock Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
The Rebel Army come into the game off the back of last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Shelbourne at Tolka Park, just days after facing Rovers in Tallaght in the FAI Cup. Rovers come to Leeside having moved 5 points clear of second-placed Bohemians thanks to a 1-0 victory in last weekend's top of the table clash.
Speaking at his weekly press conference, City boss Neale Fenn said: "It'll be a tough game. We've got to play without fear, and not be too worried about them. We just need to concentrate on how we're going to play and how we're going to set up. We've set ourselves a target of how many points we want to get from the remaining games, so we're focusing on that at the minute.
I think momentum-wise, a draw against Rovers would be good result, in terms of going to play Dundalk with a bit of confidence. Would I take a draw now? Probably not. We want to go out and win the game."
Dylan McGlade was also on media duties this week, and he spoke about the mood of the squad heading into the run-in: "There's no point being doom and gloom. It's important that we keep the mood in the camp upbeat. The lads are all together, keeping each other motivated, but we know the situation that we're in. It was a young group at the start, but we've got a few more experienced lads in now, so the mood has changed a little bit. We understand how big the task is, and what we need to do. When you look at the results and performances since we've come back, they've definitely improved, and we've looked more solid and more threatening going forward so we need to keep doing that and taking it game by game at the moment."
Fenn is faced with yet another defensive injury, with Alan Bennett joining Olowu, Kargbo and Honohan on the injury list. Ricardo Dinanga picked up a knock in the Under 19s game at the weekend, but Fenn is hopeful that he will be fit for Saturday.
