Team news for Dundalk game
Cork City are back on the road again on Monday, as they head to Oriel Park to face Dundalk. City come into the game looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat against Shamrock Rovers on Friday night, while the home side recorded a 2-1 win against Shelbourne at Tolka Park. The sides last met in October, with City recording a 1-0 win at Turner’s Cross thanks to a Dáire O’Connor goal just before half-time. City boss Neale Fenn spoke to the media after training on Sunday, and acknowledged that his side would need to show improvements from Friday: “We have to pick ourselves up; we have no time to dwell on it (Friday’s defeat). I thought we were definitely in the game up to the first goal; our intensity was good, our passing was good and we were creating chances. After the first goal, a lot of the boys’ heads dropped and for a ten-minute period after that, we let ourselves down a little bit. I think there was a little bit of naivety, trying to do the right things but at the wrong time.” “They were all disappointed, of course they were, but we are trying to pick the boys back up again. This is another game, another opportunity and it is chance for the boys to go back out and show that they are good players. We have to be positive; we have to take our last game against Dundalk, the first half an hour on Friday, we have to take all of that into it and look at it like that. We have to go out and try to give a good account of ourselves.” Deshane Dalling is suspended after his sending off on Friday, while Cian Coleman and Conor Davis will miss out again having missed the Rovers game. On the plus side for Fenn, Cian Bargary has returned to training after injury. Referee: Paul McLaughlin.
