Liam Kearney departs

Cork City FC wish to confirm that coach Liam Kearney has left the club.

Kearney returned to the club as First Team Coach ahead of the 2017 season, and also assumed the role of Head Coach of the club’s Under 17 side. City’s Head of Academy Colin Healy paid tribute to Kearney’s work with the academy, saying: “I would like to thank Liam for all of the work he has done within the academy over the last few years. He’s an excellent coach and a very popular person with everyone, who put in a massive amount of work behind the scenes. He has done great work developing players as can be seen by the number of players stepping up from Under 17s to Under 19s. We are all very grateful for the work he has put in and wish him the best of luck for the future.”

City boss Neale Fenn also expressed his appreciation, saying: “Liam was a great help to me when I came in to the club, and he is very well thought of by everyone at the club. I would like to thank him for everything he has done and wish him the very best of luck in the future.”
