Cork City FC wish to confirm that Shane Griffin and Tadhg Ryan have left the club.
The 25-year-old joined the club from Reading just prior to the 2017 season, and went on to win the double with his hometown club in his first season.
In his time with City, Griffin made over 80 league appearances, and manager Neale Fenn paid tribute to his impact at the club, saying: “Shane has obviously had a very successful time with the club and been a big part of the success that the club has had in recent years. Everyone at the club would like to thank him for the contribution he has made to Cork City FC and wish him the very best of luck for the future.”
Fenn also confirmed that goalkeeper Tadhg Ryan will not be signing back for the club for 2020, commenting: “Tadhg will be moving on. He did well when he came into the team last season, but he won’t be back for 2020. We would like to thank him for his contribution to the club and wish him well for the future.”
The City boss also said he expects to have news of at least one addition to the squad in the very near future, saying: “We are working hard on bringing players in and hope to have confirmation on at least one player over the next day or so.”
