Cork City Football Club is delighted to confirm that Ruairí Keating has signed a new, two-year contract extension at the club.
The striker currently leads the scoring charts in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division with 17 goals so far this season, and has now committed his future to City ahead of the Club’s return to the Premier Division.
Speaking in Bishopstown after signing his new deal, Keating said: “I’m absolutely delighted to extend my stay here at City. Everyone knows what this Club means to me and how happy I am in Cork, so I’m thrilled to sign this new contract.”
“I’m looking forward to being back in the Premier Division, where this club belongs, competing with the best again next season. Everyone in the dressing room knows what’s expected of us now, so we will all be working hard to make sure we’re ready to go in February.”
City boss Barry Robson said: “Keats has been brilliant for us this season, and we’re delighted to have him commit his future to City. He worked his way back to fitness having been out for a long time through injury, but he’s reached a fantastic level again and has been great in front of goal this year. He’s the kind of player that knows what it means to play for Cork City, and he will be a very important player for us as we return to the Premier.”
