Thousands and thousands of Cork City fans will be headed to Dublin for Sunday’s FAI Cup Final, and we’ve put together a handy guide to make things as smooth as possible for those making the trip!
Trains & buses are packed, with thousands more expected to be travelling by car.
If you’re getting the train, you will arrive at Heuston Station. From there, take the LUAS Red Line to Connolly Station, you’ll then change to the DART for the short trip over to Lansdowne Road Station.
If you’re travelling by bus, you will arrive in Dublin City Centre. Once you arrive, head to Tara Street Station and take the DART to Lansdowne Road - it should only take 10 minutes!
If you’re coming by car, you’ll be travelling on the M8, which connects you to the M7 and then M50. There are toll stops in Watergrasshill and Portlaoise.
Parking will be very limited in the vicinity of the stadium. There are a number of car parks around the Ballsbridge area, so we recommend looking for availability as early as possible! To avoid the headache on Sunday, supporters could also consider using Park & Ride services, such as the LUAS Red Cow Stop, and availing of LUAS & DART services as listed above. There will be car parking at RDS Simmonscourt, which will be priced at €15.
If you are on a private bus, parking will be available at RDS Simmonscourt (€50 per bus) or at the Stillorgan dual carriageway at the UCD slip road. Drop-off and collection for private buses will be facilitated at RDS Simmonscourt, for buses parking there, or at Northumberland Road, for buses parking at the Stillorgan dual carriageway.
Before the game:
City supporters will be enjoying the build-up in a number of spots near the ground, with competition sponsors Rockshore hosting a “Pre-match pubzone” in Paddy Cullen’s bar, with a number of interactive match day experiences such as spin the wheel games with plenty of prizes on offer!
All City fans are encouraged to congregate in the Ballsbridge area, to facilitate easy access to the City sections of the stadium, with the team bus due to pass through the area en route to the match.
At the Stadium:
Please note that there will be no ticket kiosk at the Aviva Stadium. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. Cork City supporters have been allocated Blocks 112 to 117 of the South Stand Lower, Blocks 119 to 122 of the West Stand Lower and Blocks 515 to 518 of the South Stand Upper as well as Blocks 519 to 525 of the West Stand Upper. Our Premium Blocks will be located in the South Stand from Blocks 314 to 320. You can purchase tickets for the Cork City FC Section here. Your ticket will be stored on your phone, so make sure you’re charged up!
Food & drink kiosks will be open within the stadium, and supporters will also be able to purchase the special edition Sports Direct FAI Cup Final Match Programme.
Once inside the Aviva, please obey all stadium regulations, and follow directions of stewards/security. Please remember that the use of pyro is strictly forbidden. The FAI and Gardaí have advised that searching will be in operation on approach to the stadium and that anyone found to be carrying any form of pyrotechnics will be refused entry to the stadium and will be unable to attend the match.
Finally, keep an eye on our social media channels for any important information and announcements on the day.
We would like to wish everyone a safe journey, and we can’t wait to see the South Stand taken over by the Rebel Army on Sunday!
