Cork City FC have announced The Crann Centre, a Cork based charity that supports children, adults and families living with neuro-physical disabilities, as the club’s official charity partner for this year’s Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup Final.
The partnership will highlight and provide a national platform to the vital services provided by Crann in the build up to and throughout the day of the final, which takes place in the Aviva Stadium this Sunday.
The Crann logo will feature on the back of the special edition FAI Cup Final jersey and the LED boards in the Aviva Stadium while the charity will be featured in the match programme.
Daithí Murphy from Ballincollig will be one of the mascots for the day. Daithí, who has cerebral palsy, has attended many services at Crann including pediatric occupational therapy, wheelchair skills training and dietetics while his brothers regularly attend sibling supports and family events. He is a big supporter of Cork City FC and is looking forward to walking out onto the pitch in front of the massive crowd on Sunday.
Cork City FC have renewed their partnership with Crann since first partnering in 2023.
Anthony O’Sullivan, Commercial Manager at Cork City FC said: “Cork City FC is delighted to announce Crann as our charity partner for the FAI Cup Final. Having worked with Crann since 2023, we understand the importance of the work they do to support children, adults and families with neuro-physical disabilities around Cork. We have been thrilled to provide lifelong memories and experiences for many of their clients over the past three years.”
Padraig Mallon, CEO of Crann said “There is a real buzz at the Crann Centre about our involvement in this year's FAI Cup Final, none more so than for Daithí as mascot and all the Murphy family. We are extremely grateful for our partnership with Cork City FC as it helps to shine a light on the work we do helping kids and families like Daithí’s. The final is a moment of pride not just for the team but the whole city and we wish the team best of luck. We’ll be cheering on the Rebel Army this Sunday!”
