We are delighted to announce details of two competitions for next week’s FAI Cup Final, as we ask for everyone’s support in #GoingGreen for the big occasion!
Supporters who are decorating their houses for next week’s tie at the Aviva Stadium are asked to post a picture on social media, tagging @CorkCityFC and using the hashtag #GoingGreen. We will repost some of the best entries and there will be a prize of signed 2026 home jersey for the best one!
Éanna Buckley, Chief Operating Officer at Cork City FC said: “The last time we were in an FAI Cup Final, we saw that people went to a lot of effort to show their support, so we would like to encourage people to do so again. We are really looking forward to seeing some of the entries; no doubt there will be some very creative efforts!”
We are also asking businesses across the city and county to decorate their premises to support us.
Supported by the Cork Business Association, we are urging businesses to deck out their premises to get behind Ger Nash and his side as they take on Shamrock Rovers at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
There will be a prize for the best business and businesses are being asked to post a picture on social media of the business decorated in Cork City FC colours including the hashtag #GoingGreen
Anthony O’Sullivan, Commercial Manager at Cork City FC said: “We are so proud of the team and management for reaching the FAI Cup Final. A lot of work has gone into reaching the final and we would love it if businesses in the City could show their support for the club by decorating their premises in the City colours of green, red and white. Whether it’s flying the Cork City FC flag, lighting up your building in the colours or hanging bunting – every gesture matters. I want to thank everyone for their support so far. We are looking forward to representing Cork in the Aviva very soon.”
Echoing this call, Dave O'Brien, President of Cork Business Association said: "On Sunday 9th of November Cork City Football Club will be flying the flag for Cork when they play in the final of the the Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup Final at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. We would like to do all we can to support the team on this massive achievement and we are calling on businesses in the city to deck out their shops and windows to show their support for the team. We would also like to wish the club and the players and the management team the very best of luck in the final and want them to know we are behind them all the way to the Aviva."
